Pickering: the closest part of Durham to us

Pickering is the nearest Durham Region city to our Mississauga shop, 45 to 65 minutes on the 401, and it prices closest to our standard ranges of anywhere in Durham. We still quote it case by case with the commute built into the proposal. The housing runs from 1960s and 1970s homes in Bay Ridges near the lake to 1980s and 1990s two-storeys in Amberlea, Liverpool, and Brock Ridge, and new construction in Duffin Heights and Seaton.

Home Renovation questions - Pickering

How much does a home renovation cost in Pickering?
Whole-home renovations are quoted at $80–$150/sq. ft.. Inside that, a kitchen typically runs $25,000–$50,000 and a bathroom $12,000–$20,000. Structural work, such as a beam for an open concept, and second units are priced as separate lines so you can see what each decision costs. For Pickering, the commute is built into the quote rather than billed as a travel fee.
How long does a home renovation take in Pickering?
A kitchen takes three to five weeks and a bathroom two to four. A whole-home renovation runs eight to fourteen weeks of construction depending on size and scope. Where walls or plumbing move, City of Pickering Building Services permit review adds time up front, which we include in the schedule.
Do I need a building permit in Pickering?
Yes when a wall is removed or moved, plumbing is relocated or added, new electrical circuits go in, or a basement is finished with a bathroom or a separate unit. Like-for-like replacements in the same positions usually do not need a building permit, though electrical work still goes through ESA. We prepare drawings, file with City of Pickering Building Services, and book every inspection.
Do you actually take work in Pickering?
Yes, but plainly: Pickering is outside our regular no-surcharge area. Our shop is in Mississauga, 45 to 65 minutes away on the 401 depending on the hour. We quote Durham Region work case by case and build the commute into the proposal instead of billing a separate travel fee. A full kitchen, a whole main floor, or a multi-room renovation usually prices sensibly. A single small room usually does not, and we will say so before booking a visit.
Which Durham communities do you cover?
Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, and Courtice, all on the same case-by-case basis. Pickering and Ajax are the shortest drive and price closest to our standard ranges; Oshawa and Courtice carry the longest commute.
